Funny. He doesn't seem to object to the money he's making in good ol' America.
"He's an adult. The club's position is that what he does is up to him."
Not while he's wearing a Marlin's uniform.
there should be an en masse cancelling of season tickets as a response to this - let the team get the message. Rush should run with this.
Is this really a surprise?
How many sports figures really support the USA?
Oh, they love the money, of course.
Fans should stand and turn their backs to him when he's up at bat. Piece of s**t.
That should make that long term $52 million contract pretty near worthless.
These entertainers who think any of us are interested in their political concerns are NUTS!
Maybe we should ask the Department of State to revoke his work visa.
Now I like that Idea.
Yeah and now I'm stuck watching this idiot all summer long.
I hope he has a lousy season even though I do hope the Marlins do well. I just heard that he doesn't like God Bless America. I am sure that all the Cuban Americans in Miami are going to be thrilled with him. They flee communism and they get stuck with an idiot like him on their home team!!
What an absolute tool. Deport the a-hole.
I am going opening day, I'll let you know. I didn't realize it was this idiot that we signed.
Season ticket sales jumped dramatically when he signed. He makes the Marlins a better baseball team.
Regarding his protest..... while I respect those who disagree with the war, and support athletes/celebs voicing their opinions like any other person (as long as they're prepared for possible backlash) his protest is quite a stretch, to say the least. Taking his feelings out on "God Bless America"??? That just don't make sense, and consequently is inappropriate.
how many people even know about this practice of his? very few. if it got some widespread media coverage, harping on it day after day, some people would refund their season tickets.
Freedom of speech, freedom of expression...
True ..... but now he's their guy, so a lot of people who might otherwise object will excuse his behavior.
I may be wrong but Delgado isn't an American citizen. I think he's from Puerto Rico. Don't you just love these people that come here to take our money and then treat the country with such disrespect?
Denny Crane: "I want two things: First God and then Fox News."
He'd better watch his back. Florida 'aint Toronto.
