People must take responsibility for what they say; the gov is a dimmocrat, but I'm with him on this. He and his wife have suffered with this, and there is no reason to make a political disagreement personal. Carton must be 24 carat jerk.

So the jock has a right to say rotten things about his wife, but he can't speak up and threaten to kick his butt?
The world was a better place when we could call out these people and horsewhip them. You watched your mouth back then.

I wonder why some Caribbean island doesn't declare dueling to be legal, and make money from people who fly to the island to settle matters of personal honor the old-fashioned way.

It is ironic that New Jersey served that purpose for NYC in colonial times--Weehawken was the dueling site.

I have no opinion of Codey, but this Carton guy is a real a**hole. His show is unlistenable, with his overblown 'joisey' accent.

Acting Gov. Richard J. Codey threatened to "take out" a radio talk show host...
...and among New Jersey democrats that's not JUST an idle threat...

Codey is deep in a nasty backroom pre-primary fight with Corzine over the Dem. gubernatorial nod. Codey's numbers have been very high since taking over, but Corzine is lining up most of the institutional support. Therefore, if Codey runs, he'll have to run on a secondary ballot line. So this plays nicely into a "man of the people" image and gets him another mention in another news cycle. Codey as blue collar everyman vs. Sen. Billionaire just might stand a chance in a contested primary. I sure hope so, 'cause, as a corrupt hack, he's an easier target for Bret Schundler in the fall.

I was listening to a radio station in Rhode Island a few months ago. In between songs, the DJ made a derogatory statement about Alzheimer's sufferers -- mimicking their obvious plight. Ignoramus!

People must take responsibility for what they say;
The First couple days after he was sworn in, The Selected, Not Elected Gov and Wifey were all over the morning news programs prostituting wifeys history, first PPD then Breast cancer, to give her an enhanced visibility as an advocate and fundraiser......

"I wish I weren't governor, I'd take you out," Codey said off-air, according to a Star-Ledger reporter who witnessed the confrontation. Carton responded: "That's real professional. You want to fight?"
He called the man's wife crazy over the air, then is discussing being professional?!?!?! Pot, meet kettle.
