Look at the teenage pregnancy statistics as an example of what our "freedom of expression" has gotten us....

As if there is a link between the two.

By the way, teen preganancy rates are going down in the U.S.

Interesting that this has been in correllation to the increased concern over sensorship, and the greater enforcement of it.

Nice try. Except for the fact that the FCC doesn't regulate cable. And let's not forget that, for the most part, no one regulates the Internet.

I mean, if TV viewing causes teen pregnancy shouldn't the pregnancy rates be off the charts as the Internet becomes more & more widespread?

Yet it's not. Wonder why?

I'm not for big government at all. Just asking for entertainment executives to show a little respect and consideration for impressionable minds.

That's strange. In your earlier post, you expressed your support for the FCC enforcing so-called decency standards.

Would it be okay with you for porn to be on network broadcasts?

Fine by me. I wouldn't watch it. But I think the marketplace should decide, not Govt. That's where we differ.

I grew up at a time when the family could watch TV or listen to the radio together without embarrassment. I realize those days are gone.

No they are not. If you can't find wholesome family entertainment on TV you're not looking hard enough. There are more choices now than ever before.

You never said if you have children or not. Just curious.

Nope. My wife & I are purposely child-free.

And I'm sure you'll use that little piece of info to somehow show why I'm not qualified to comment on "but it's for the children" type issues.

Which would mean you'd have to ignore all those with kids who share my views.
