WRONG. They are EXTREMELY anti the STATE OF ISRAEL and have been since the British made asses of themselves turning boatloads of Jewish refugees away from the shores of Palestine.
I do not agree with you.
Yes.. and I now have presenteed Several Articles that show it's beyond mere "Leftism".. which you now emptily repeat (!)
which is after you were also answered on how others can watch ther BBC and diuscern it's attitudes.
anything else?? Oert will you just be repeating "Ot's just Leftism" again?
LOL
Dear God....
I have been to BBC Watch before and commented thus on post 43.
On some points I feel they are valid and at others they are clutching at straws and using semantics in the worst possible way.
As I have said countless times to you and others the BBC does not like rightwingers in Israel and others countries. Yes they are bias against right wingers but not defacto against entire countries.
They do not deny the Holocaust, encourage children to become suicide bombers or call for the destruction of AMerica or Israel.
n your honor..
I have just posted two more strings

The Good, Bad and Ugly
(Why I'm leaving the Guardian)
In which Ms Burchill confronts this issue of 'Mere Leftism' or 'Anti-Semitism'
(If your answer is "It's just Leftism" again.. please spare us)
I was the first person to post on the thread on the Guardian. Maybe you should read the posts.
For the record I regularly read the BBC.
And as for your definition of anti-Semitism, you keep referring to the BBC not denying the Holocaust, advocating suicide bombing, or calling for the destruction of Israel. Is that your definition of anti-Semitism? That is not a universal one. It is extremely limited and yet it conveniently supports your position of BBC exculpation. Here is the dictionary definition. Note your criterion do NOT appear:
hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group
How about supporting the cause of those who do advocate suicide bombing as their means of choice? How about supporting the cause of those who do advocate destruction of Israel? How about a BBC contributor, Tom Paulin, who advocated murder of Israeli "settlers from Brooklyn?" How about moral relativism, a charge I keep making and you keep ignoring. How about a supervisory staffer who came from Al Jazeerah that bastion of Jew loving? How about a BBC reporter who openly states he is with the Hamas cause (sounds like he supports suicide bombing and destruction of Israel).
All just "poor judgement." So it is your opinion that they are morons not anti-Semites? To me singling out Israel for special condemnation among the nations of the world is discrimination against Jews. Fits the definition.
Also the BBC is critical of the left Blair government. How can that be as you have repeatedly stated that they support the left and thus attacks on the US and Israel are merely attacks on the right? In UK they often support the Conservatives. Heres one explanation --they are selective supporters of the left when it fits their Arabist, anti-Israel agenda.
We have some of those here too. They form an alliance of convenience with the left.
Margaret Thatcher considers Tony Blair to beher greatest achievement.
By British standards he is not left wing.
He is right of centre.
I am sure there are people at the BBC who should not be there and I am more happy to write letters fo complaint and ahve done in the past.
I do not feel the BBC to be anti-semitic but you clearly do. I suggest you write to your Representative about it.
AS for the part about Holocaust denial thatwas brought about when some idiot compared the BBC to the Palestinian News Service which is an insane comparison.
I do not live in England, but regularly see and here Beeb reporting online.

Viewpoints: Anti-Semitism and Europe
Israel's prime minister says anti-Semitism is rising in Europe, citing attacks on Jews and Jewish interests. His remarks followed an EU poll which showed many believe Israel is the greatest threat to world peace.
Is anti-Semitism really increasing? Is hostility towards Israeli policy in the Middle East becoming anti-Jewish? BBC News Online asked 12 experts on Jewish affairs from Europe and Israel to reflect on the charge. Click on the quotes below to read more. The BBC are willing to discuss anti-semitism and let all groups discuss it in an open forum.
This is why I do not feel them anti-semitic and get angry when people compare them with Palestinain TV or Al Jazeera.
I will not be guilty of the moral equivalency I deplore. I have never said that the BBC is the equal of Al Jazeera in its degree. But something lesser can still amount to anti-Semitism. As you saw in the other post on the departed Guardian reporter, she was not anti-Semitic. That did not vindicate the Guardian as a whole. Just so you point to one piece the BBC did to prove that they are not anti-Semitic. One or several articles, in a sea of negative coverage, does not negate my charge.
Further did you read the article you linked and what the commentators had to say? Most expressed the opinion that claims of increased anti-Semitism in Europe were exaggerated. The statistics, hard facts of marked increases, disagree. Further the only Israeli on the panel trashed the Sharon government and claimed that the Israeli right was using anti-Semitism as a cover. Tell that to the Jewish communities in France, Belgium and UK who have been advised to hide outward signs of their Judaism for safety sake, whose persons and places of worship have been attacked. Several other panelists expressed similar opinions. I believe only 2 of 12 commentators acknowledged the severity of the problem. This piece acted to minimize the severity of the New Anti-Semitism and its connection to Anti-Zionism, a connection even the EU has acknowledged. Further who are these panelists? I have not heard of most of them.
This piece in fact stands as a good example of the type of behavior I find reprehensible by the BBC. Unlike Al Jazeera the BBC is subtle in its slanting and thus to Westerners believable. They keep a façade of fairness but nevertheless they have a decided bias. Their subtlety and semblance of reliable reporting makes them more dangerous than Al Jazeera which outside the Muslim world, already predisposed to anti-Semitism, is not considered reliable.
