2 things:

1. Have you searched in FR's Search function.

2. This isn't Breaking News.

It's 'sacraments', not 'sacrements'. Maybe that will help?

A few more hints, such as the context of the quote as you remember it. It sounds vaguely familiar.

I beleive it was either said by a Roman Catholic regarding the catholic church or an Anglican regarding the church of england

the chruches are empty, the priests are ignored, the sacrements are forsaken and . . ."

That could have been said be any priest on Super Bowl Sunday.

I have no idea if this is the one, or even what it is .. but I found it here

"The churches are empty
The priest has gone home
And we are left standing
Together alone..."
- October Project, "Dark Time"

This won't help but here it is. "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger."

I always liked that idea.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for or not, but it's Catholic:

This is the boasting of the devil. He affirms with pride:
I have destroyed Faith. The Pope himself has spoken of the crisis of faith.
I have destroyed Morality. My impure demons are triumphant everywhere.
I have destroyed Religion: the churches are empty and blasphemies substitute prayer.
I have destroyed the Family: prostitution is general, and the innocentst are slaughtered with abortion.

The above are direct quotes from The Likes and Dislikes of the Devil by Fr. Pellegrino Ernetti (an exorcist) and translated into English by Fr. Adolf Saroni SDB

"Google Answers" allows you to hire researchers to find anything. More money means faster response. Of course, if one of them knows the answer, then that helps you get away with $30-40. But if they have to dig, then more might be needed.

If they don't find it, you don't pay.

If I knew, I'd tell you.

That quote was from Nietzsche, -- powerful statement but a man that was pretty Godless
