I think the reason his speech was so well received among the talking heads is that they got the copy to read before the speech. They were embargoed from commenting until the speech was actually given.
The reading and re-reading makes the speech more and more profound.
Perhaps, Miss Peggy didn't get an advance copy and was disgruntled.

Gotta love someone who uses a Biblical verse as a tagline then attacks a genuine lady and Conservative like Peggy Noonan for nothing more than *gasp* stating her opinion about one speech.
Miss Noonan took an unpaid leave of absence from the WSJ to work on Bush's reelection campign. What, pray tell, did YOU do?

Come on now, my FRiend...OldFriend's just posting an opinion, just like Ms. Noonan. I like Ms. Peggy, too, but I also agree that she was wrong on her assessment of this speech.
