He appeals to religious-thinking people 'cause religious people are not, let's be honest, critical thinkers. That's what faith is. They believe something, and it's absolute, and you can't shake them, and they all work backwards from that

He is right on his main point though, fundementalist religious people are not critical thinkers. If you ask them why they believe something its because that is what their minister or latest book on the Bible told them that Bible said and of course that is the end all, be all of truth.

It means nothing to them that the Bible was not written in English nor that the meaning to first century Christians would have been totally different than to those today. And dont forget, they say there is no conflicts between what is said in one book of the Bible versus another.

Mather talks like this to try to generate attention for himself. It doesn't work. He is such a stupid man that it is best to ignore him.

Dave, people can have faith and be critical thinkers in all other areas of life. It is called "faith" for a reason.

Einstein had faith - guess he doesn't count as a critical thinker to the Voice of Willard's Penis

Einstein wasnt a Christian and he didnt believe in the Resurrection and he didnt believe in seven days of creation...so what is your point? You can be a person of faith and not believe every literal word of the Bible.

"Does that list of Religious Non Critical Thinkers include Stephen Hawkings?"

OR the Founding Fathers for that matter?

We should however find it amusing that Bill Maher fancies himself a "critical thinker" or "intellectual."

FROM THE ARTICLE:

"In the 1969 episode, Sen. Kennedy managed to elude capture after driving his late-model Oldsmobile off Martha's Vineyard's Edgartown Bridge, leaving staffer Mary Jo Kopechne drowning inside."
