FWIW, never presumed it. Sorry if the verbage implied that.
From what I have read, fetal stem cell research is a vacuum taking valuable funding from promising adult stem cell research.
Exactly. Now what interests me is the motive for diverting funds to fruitless research.
Stem cell research - it's all about the money.
Spelling does not hold a candle to grammer?
Fetal stem cell research is bogus. We have the ability to get stem cells from the umbilical cord and it is useful to patients, especially the donor. We are not doing a regular stem cell bank for all children and that is a crime.
That is where the future is.

stem cell research
You vote for it, I'll vote against it.
Why in the world would anyone vote against umbilical cord stem cell research?
The cord is thrown away!!! The baby is born alive and these stem cells have saved thousands. There are NO ethical issues about harvesting them, except possibly why we are not doing it already.
Why would you vote against it?

I'm all for harvesting anything with NO ethical issues.
That's one of the lefties tricks. They lump all stem cell research into one category, then muck up the arguments with fetal stem cell research. All the other research is non controversial, no one had to die for fat cells, no one had to die for umbilical cord stem cells...etc.
Fetal stem cells cause tumors when used. That's why they are not useful in treatment. Umbilical cord cells are great when used for bone marrow transplants, as they come from the owner. They aren't rejected, and don't have the other complications when using a foreign donor.
And no one is trying to spend money on it, compared to the billions people are trying to spend on fetal cell research.
What a waste of money.

I'm sorry, I guess I should do some research before I disagree with someone, the word stem cell research just caught my eye.
It is strictly not your fault. The media is lumping in all the other non controversial stem cell research, into the one small and so far unproductive area of stem cell research.
If you have to do research on the stem cell stories, the stories are slanted, or the writers are idiots.
When you talked about doing research on the subject, I am heartened, not disappointed. I do this FREEP thing on a local blog, and there are so many closed minded people it is incredible.
Thanks for not being one of them!!!
