granted the governor now sucks and they did go for Heinz but hey we still have some ballsy conservatives unlike Mass

The fact that even though their are lots of recent liberal immigrants from MA, VT, and Maine (to escape the taxes they created there) there are plenty of conservative Republicans (and independents) here. For the record Bush carried our town and many others - except the college towns and a few other bastions of liberality. Unfortunately a few of those places have a lot of voters.
