I was by there the other day and it sure seems like it has taken you a long time to open the place.

Wish I could attend, but I'm in Wisconsin now. But the gambit you describe with the advertising sounds like classic Bev. What kind of establishment do you operate and where is it located?

Long time? More like a nightmare is the word!! I hired this designer that really screwed us over... It took him forever to get the "design" done and when he did it was a pathetic piece of crap. Our GC stepped in and cleaned things up but that has cost me another grand! Thank god for the AGGIES! Mean while we are wasting money by not being open. It has really sucked!! We are doing a soft opening because that is all we can do. We have people who are very interested in investing to help us out. So keep your fingers crossed. If we do not get that money in then things could get real rough real fast. The surprising thing about this whole situation is the lack of investment from conservatives! I thought that they would be the easiest ones to work with. Well, Live and learn.

I wish that I had time to go into it personally but I do not. Just go to http://www.Freedomstavern.com for more info. I am working on the site all night tonight.

I suspect the words Tavern and Ft Bend County conservatives don't fit together very well. We only have a couple that I can think of in this end of the county.

As much as I detest Specter, I couldn't call him a RINO.He and Snow are not even good enough to be called RINO's. They are leftists, pinko, bedwetting a$$holes. There is no reason to believe otherwise.

"They are leftists, pinko, bedwetting a$$holes. There is no reason to believe otherwise. " True, but that doesn't make them RINOs. My definition of RINOs are like the Democrat officeholders who switched to the Republican party as the demographics changed making it obvious they couldn't win reelection as a Democrat. They call themselves Republicans but they still campaign for and raise money for their Democrat buddies running for office.
Judges are the worse. They still take care of their Democrat lawyer friends while screwing the Republicans who opposed them before they switched parties.

OMG, your restaurant and bar sound wonderful! I wish that I still lived down there -- I would be a regular with all my friends, I know. No wonder Bev is on your case -- you are COMPETITION! You are going to be an alternative news source. You are going to be the 21st century cracker barrel or corner pub or stump where people discuss the issues of the day.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope to see you one day for myself. Will the local politicians be dropping by -- like Leonard Scarcella? He's still mayor of Stafford, isn't he?
To: bgsugar
Couldn't agree more, at least were Bev is concerned. I never really got into Matthew's.. maybe that was a good thing as things turned out.. YIKES!

The local politicians have not made an effort to help out at all. They are going to wait for us to open up. The police have been the biggest help. I can not blame them however, I have been talking about this for a very long time and they want to see if we can get this off the ground.
We are going to open up early for the police because they want breakfast. So we are working on the menu for that. We will be able to do that sometime in Feb. We got too much good news yesterday to list here. But things are now going well.
Good luck

Best of luck. I'll rack my memory to see if I can send you some customers, although everyone we knew in politics there is pretty much out of it, has moved away, or has died!
To: afraidfortherepublic
I appreciate it!! Good luck to you..
