I'll ask you again, what did I make up? What did I lie about?

Take your time answering.

There's no point in answering you, there's no point in discussing anything with you.

That's all I needed to hear amigo.

Adios

"We're facing a quagmire in Iraq just as we faced a quagmire in Vietnam." -- Senator Ted Kennedy

"I think we need to leave (Iraq) asap because it's a hopeless quagmire." -- You

Why is it that all you leftists sound alike?

"Therefore, I am merely advocating an extension of that Constitutional suspension to a large group of people who are all suspect. (Think recent murders in Jersey City)"
Leftists argue in favor of a violation of our Second Amendment rights based on the very same principle...since people who own guns commit crimes with guns, then gun owners' rights should be suspended.

See...you are actually a leftist, so why don't you go over to DU where you will find more support for Jose Padilla's rights, the suspension of Constitutional rights, the United Nations, Ted Kennedy, Amnesty International, and all those other people and groups you seem to fall into idealogical line with.

"you're not alone in standing up for Jose Padilla's rights"

It would be more effective to respond to what I write, not whatever you feel like inferring.

I was not standing up for Jose Padilla's rights. I used him as an example to illustrate that we are living under suspended habeas corpus. Do you disagree that we are, in fact, living under such a suspension?

"Why is it that all you leftists sound alike?"

I was wondering the same about the Bushbots and Dittoheads.

Again, if you read what I wrote, I blame leftists like Kennedy for making Iraq a winless situation. Do you suppose Kennedy blames himself for the mess?

Are you suggesting that the 2nd amendment has been suspended? I know people who bought guns last week, right off the shelf. I guess nobody told them about the ban...

If you can do no more critical thinking about the arguments I pose than to label me a leftist, I pity you. You clearly lack independent thinking and critical analysis skills.

Not to mention your dismal reading comprehension.

At least two people here seem to have this problem.

How many have this problem?

What examples of this supposed suspension of habeas corpus, other than Jose Padilla, can you offer to back up your ridiculous statement?

Yaser Esam Hamdi

Of course, the question is ludicrous on its face.

Do you expect official press briefings on the other people illegally scooped up by the government?

If the "alleged" elections make you sneer that much, then why even have us stay one more day?

Good point. Shoot Saddam in the head, and let's go!

We stayed and lots of Iraqi's turned out to vote.

I didn't say we should leave before the election. But it's time to start scaling back now, for sure - it's their country. Or should we be planning to be an occupying imperial power?
