How weird to just happen to see this thread because I JUST heard that Prince Charles has ordered Harry and William to make a private visit to Auschwitz and they will be given lessons on the Holocaust.

I'm no fan of Charles, but I heartily approve of this. It would be revolting for the public to be subjected to the spectacle of the princes' visit, but this private one plus the lessons are an excellent idea.

You might take a breath during your indignant hyper-ventilating and reflect on the fact that there are still people alive who were victims of the Nazi regime. It is completely different from the other examples you offer and what Harry did was completely wrong.

I don't hype it to be more than that, but neither do I dismiss it as harmless and merely silly.

And there aren't living victims of the Khmer Rouge?

I'll reiterate, there would be NO STORY had Harry shown up dressed as Pol Pot.

I'm sorry, you're right on that example. I was thinking of the other ancient one which I'm too lazy to scroll up and remind myself of.

That there might not have been outrage from the lefties over a Stalin or Pol Pot get-up does not mitigate what Harry did here.

I was shocked to see it.

If Harry has to atone, why should he have to go to Auschwitz? Why would he even have to leave London? The Jerrys bombed the town to bits, to there would be plenty of locations, locally, for him to go and formally recognize what bad folks the Nazis were.

Harry's a young man, just out of school, and he chose a costume for a private party.

I am well over 50 years old, and I was born after WWII was over. It took me years to find out what really happened as nobody would talk about it. My mother said that we should just forget such unpleasantries. I will never fault a young person for not understanding the impact of what he did.

This is the ultimate PC attack. I am willing to bet that he will never do anything even remotely like this again.

It was a costume party where people dress up in outrageous
provocative costumes. This is another out of control
pack mentality PC BS. To think that with all the problems
in the world we wast five minutes on this nothing story
makes me wonder if this old world has gone completely mad.
Again he wore a costume to a costume party and if that offends someone that is their problem.

Ya got that right! Harry is probably wondering what hit him! And he surely didn't choose that costume on his own. His friends probably confirmed his decision, egged him on. They probably thought it was cool to do something outrageous.

You obviously do not get it... Maybe you should also travel to Auschwitz to understand what this is about...
