Shrum got caught red-handed pulling a dirty trick after only a few days with Carter; Governor Carter then fired him and moved on

Thats sounds about right, but Shrum denies it and mumbles some mumbo jumbo for not agreeing with carter and him wanting a more progressive (i.e. shrum double talk for calling Carter a moderate, how the hell was this guy ever competitve?).

Carter though isn't exactley honest himself, and there were stories about him race baiting, and carter gets murky in referance to shrum.

Bare in mind, in 1980, Shrum great moment came working for Kennedy to challenge Carter for the nomination, not a normal thing to do, so obviousley, it was bad blood.

Shrum was just on HARDBALL, and said he's writing a book. It may be on values, or on what he's learned in politics.

One of those joke books with all blank pages?

Ironically enough, the DNC has just selected Schottenheimer to be their new policy director, responsible for "winning elections, among other crap we're not really good at."

I hear that the vote among committee members was unanimous.

In a related story the GOP has selected John Elway for a similar position.

who would be so foolish as to take his advice now? it would be like asking ashlee simpson for singing lessons.

Exactly, he's a consistent loser. Bye Bob, it was fun running our candidates against yours.

Shrum played key roles in eight losing Democrat presidential campaigns and two-dozen winning Senate races.

Best example of the Peter Principle that I can think of.
