Congratulations and thank you for your service to our country!
I'll never forget the day our bus departed Lackland AFB for Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas, and tech school (672xx Military Pay Clerk). November 1984. Because I had three years of JROTC, I got to skip out of BMTS after three weeks(!) and got to sew on two stripes. They called it Proficiency Advancement (PA). Of course, if you messed up ONCE, your TI would cancel your PA status and you stayed for the entire six weeks.
At BMTS, I got a marksmanship ribbon, with a little help from the airman on my left. The range master told me, "You have more than 40 holes in your target, but since I can't tell which ones are yours, you get credit for them all. It takes 360 to get a ribbon and you got a 362. Congratulations." :-)
After tech school, I went to Mather AFB, Sacramento, California, (nice duty) and got out during the 1988 draw down.
