LOL Ouch...even the left doubts 'em
To opt on or off my *NPR/PBS* Ping list please Freep mail me. Don't be shy! This is a low to moderate activty list.
They only cleaned the corners. They forgot to clean the gunky slime from under the fridge, where Rather hangs out.

That can't be true or Mapes would have that documentation in her files and it would be a gross violation of professional journalism not to report it. It would be evidence of political bias...What? She did have it?? Oh!
PING
just wonder if NPR/PBS called Ohio for Bush yet!!!
Spin. A cover-up that scorns the obvious by allowing only a part of it, and burying that part with lies.
For example NPR claims "The larger story -- of Bush receiving gentle treatment in his military service -- appears to be sound."! On what basis? Discredited reports, "common knowledge" and that it was "routine fodder for late-night comics and editorial cartoonists".
They also accept as most holy and sanctified the word of a novice writer at the Columbia Review of Journalism. That analysis is indeed holy, as so full of holes in logic and fact that they opened a Deli to sell it as swiss cheese.
The Deli is doing so ganagbusters, btw, that they are folding up the magazine and are promoting the fact-challenged novice to director of cheese slicer management. Good judgement by the CRJ directors!
I was drafted around the time GWB went into the Air National Guard. I could have easily gone into the National Guard and, if fact, signed up, but then failed my regular army physical.
My point is that getting into the Guard was not that difficult based on my experience.
The probability the memos were real are less than the probability that naked Anna Kournikova is going be knocking on my door tonight.
I remember the first report NPR did on the TNG memo.
It was a 10 second bit blaming "Pranksters" for the duping of CBS.
Talk about the blind leading the deaf.
Excuse me? Where are the journalistic standards behind this toss-off? "Essentially common wisdom?" That means that essentially everyone at NPR believes it so it must be true.
I might be a bit less skeptical were there not such an obvious double standard at work here - Bush is obligated to provide documented proof of his military service down the last day, but Kerry is given a pass for not releasing his own records in that regard.
Great observation!
"... memos whose authenticity has since come into question."
The memo os a PHONY, FRAUD, FAKE, FORGED, UNREAL, NO GOOD, MANUFACTURED!
What part of that can't you flaming commie f**kers understand? Can anyone find ONE, JUST ONE, authoritative source that can say that there is even an outside chance the thing is real. NO! Because they are so obviously and patently fake that a school kid can spot it. Well ... almost. The type used was NOT available in the early 70's.
Is it that hard to admit that the dems you so love are corrupt and would kill the damn Pope to advance their agenda? Yes, I guess it is.
Folkenflik writes a media column for for the Baltimore Sun. He's a pinko zombie like most of the Sun's writers. This effluvia is typical of him and his compadres, namely-garbage.
I wonder why everyone is making the assumption that the documents should be proved forged or fake. Just the opposite - the source was suspect, the source asked for money, the documents were poor copies, etc.....
I would suggest that the standard would be to assume that they were forged or fake and that they would be acceptable only if they could be verified as valid!!!!
When you see the eye, expect a lie.

Why does longtime LIBERAL Los Angeles Times Media Critic DAVID SHAW still insist that:
RATHER's work 'Slipppy, Slipshod' not LIBERAL..?

Did ya happen to notice how DAN RATHER quietly ended tonight's 'CBS Evening News' TV broadcast with his chin sticking way up in the air..?
Almost thought we'd get another "Courage" Sign-Off out of the guy.
