12 miles. dang. So the 14 freeway was heavy, was it?

Speaking of my neck of the woods, here's Avenue J this afternoon:

That mud is so thick and goes on for so long, the picture doesn't do it justice.

What's the deal with the designated county routes being ignored here? This is N-5! The rest of the roads are clearing out and leaving this main thoroughfare blocked. I bet they're not doing it because no one wants to. There's no way to know how much road is actually under there, anyway.

On Friday morning we went out to check the progress. There was none but a deputy was there, also surveying the situation. When asked what the dilly, he shrugged and said he thought they were supposed to be there. He didn't know why they weren't. I drove around yesterday and discovered what might be the real problem. The street that pic was taken on is J. The cross street is 110th East. J is e/w, 110th is n/s. So, I drove over to K, a mile south of here, and realized where all J's mud came from. There is a wash carved out next to 110th street, on the east side, that must be twelve feet across, maybe five feet deep, and at least a quarter mile long. All that mud is now sitting on Avenue J.
