When I first read the Headline, I thought it said:
About 180 Rescued From Cars in Calif. Show And I was thinking to myself: "Man, were they smuggling Mexicans through at the LA Auto Show too!"

Don't they have snowplows up there? The Colorado Rockies get the most glorious blizzards, but when they do either there are very big, vicious, serious snowplows keeping the roads plowed and gravelled, or the state cops mandate the use of chains, or they close the roads altogether. This sort of situation, with people stranded in their cars, should never take place.

yeah they do have plows.....but I think the snow came on so fast and some people are just incredibly stupid....I know you have the Rockies but the Sierra Nevada's are nothing to sneeze at........and those people in So Cal got caught near Big Bear trying to get to the ski resorts......even a couple of CHP's said they hadn't' seen this much snow in one day in over 20 years.........

I lived in Denver for 20 years.
Two feet or less and no real problem next day you went to work.
However more than that and everything closed. I couldn't get out of my neighborhood for five days once after we got 48 inches.
I70 is closed so often we always had to plan extra time coming back just in case we couldn't get over the pass. It sometimes closes for three or four days. Sometimes longer if another big storm hits.

well you are an idiot wishing ill will on anyone....I'm a Californian and proud Republican......just like middle america, most of the counties in Calif are red......and in this case near San Bernadino, it is red too.......you wish ill will towards them ......even if we are only 40%, that still makes 15 million Repubs and conservatives in Calif. most people have no conception of Calif except what they see in the news........sorry for that

ok if you feel that way I won't disparage you but really, I've been to 45 states and even though SF and LA are whacky, Calif is not that much different than any other state.......in fact, the state is so diverse if you visit all around it you would swear you were in Colorado, Iowa, Florida, Vermont etc on any given day.....the people in the interior are mostly avid hunters, farmers, repubs etc. I just defend the state because some people only know Calif from what they see in the news. It's like we only hear about NY from NY city but most people don't know that upstate NY is heavily repub but you never hear of Schenectady, do you.......have a good night

I guess you never heard of Jim Robinson. Clue: He's the founder of Free Republic and lives in CALIFORNIA!! An apology to the millions of CA conservatives might be in order. You're sounding just like the liberals--branding a whole category of people without thinking.

You guys seem to have the most spectacular disasters though
and your public officals are so condesending and incompetent
it just all seems to be fitting and proper that all hell breaks loose on you guys!
