I actually don't think I'd mind bringing illegal aliens in to work, as long as we could export, one for one, any of our current people that refuses to work.

We're going to have a lot of rain the next few days, but if they hold this rally on relatively dry Saturday, I'll be there.

If an American day laborer showed up, would he be arrested?
I was going to suggest you show up and find out, but since you won't even put in an employment application at your local coin dealers, I'm sure it would be too much effort..just keep waiting for the phone to ring...oh yeah they are giving illegals home mortgates in Wisconsin....I guess they overcame their handicaps...

One of the first things I did when I moved here was go to the coin dealers, it's all an insider business here and they don't hire outsiders.Hmm my mistake, seems to me you previously said "There are only a few coin shops in town and they seem to be family operations where everyone in the store seems to be in the family." I guess that means you filled out an application and went back in a few months to try again?

Well, I think we can agree that is not going to happen. According to Bear Stearns, who has recently studied this illegal underground economy, concludes there are at least 20 million illegals in this country. TWENTY MILLION. According to them a population the size of NEW YORK STATE.
This is discussed on Lou Dobbs and will play again later. I'll post the transcript tomorrow if I get time.

How about a one-for-one swap of a DUmmie for an immigrant who wants to work?

Las Vegas must have 10% of that 20 million. It is like being in baja. All construction is done by illegals. All fast food work the same. Spanish signs everywhere. A foreign language spoke almost everywhere I go.

Do you listen to Mark Edwards on radio out of Vegas, on at 9pm Pacific time? If not, be sure to catch him, also here.

20 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS?
By Michelle Malkin · January 03, 2005 11:02 AM
Barron's has an important lead article out today on "the underground economy" (password required). According to Robert Justich, a senior managing director at Bear Stearns Asset Management in New York, current estimates of the illegal alien population (most news articles cite the old 8 to 13 million figure) are too low. He puts the figure at 18 million to 20 million.
The article's author, Jim McTague, notes some devastating consequences of the failure to enforce our immigration laws--and he does so with a bluntness that is unusual for the usually open-borders-friendly business press:

You didn't mention the human trafficking to supply other services (prostitution, etc.)
They may be coming through Mexico, but they aren't all Mexican (Russia, Asia, etc.)

Heres more for your web page.
one million seconds = 11 days
one billion seconds = 31 years
one trillion seconds = 318 centuries
