LOL!
Checking the older threads for some info on who what and where. Are you taking your 5 year old to the swearing-in ceremony? I'm reluctant to take our 4.5 year old. Also, we got in on a white house tour with another group on Tuesday at 4 pm. By any chance is that you?
That's the plan at this point, I think. We have tickets to the yellow standing area, but after reading some of the info that came with the tickets it looks like we are going to be "standing" for a LONG time before anything even starts to happen. I don't know how well Marissa (JustAmy's five year old grand-niece) is going to hold up, but it is Amy's call. If she thinks that it is going to be too difficult on Marissa, we'll just not go and we'll watch the Inauguration on tv at the hotel.
No, we aren't scheduled to go on the White House tour. We aren't getting to DC until late Tuesday afternoon and we leave Monday morning.
I'm hoping to get to the swearing-in ceremony. I think we may have to play it by ear.
If there are other children there, Marissa will be entertained. I'm not sure about just standing around for 3 hours.
Marissa wants to take a picture of President Bush. She doesn't realize that we will be so far away, she won't be able to see him. :)
She has been ready to get on the plane for two days now. Every night, she asks if tomorrow is when the plane comes. I will be happy when Tuesday morning gets here. I'm READY!!!
Will you be going to the dinner on Wednesday evening? We plan to be there.
Looking forward to meeting you.
We're in for Wednesday's Din-Din. Marissa sounds delightful. The kids will have a great time as long as we keep them safe. That's the main thing. I will freepmail you identity and contact info. Won't know until Tuesday where we will be for the swearing-in.
Got it and saved it, thanks. :-)
We will see you at dinner Wednesday.
Will be looking for you too Mama. My mom & me are coming in from PA on Wed. and we look forward in attending the dinner that evening, we are staying at the hotel too, going to the Stars & Stripes Ball Thursday evening, cannot wait to see everyone. It's a wonderful get away for me, mom of four boys!! See you Wed. thanks, MVV
Do you suggest going straight to the parade, instead of the swearing in?
Do you have tickets?
I don't have anything other than an idea of how I plan to get to FR's plot of ground on the north side of PA Ave. I envision at least two crowded security checkpoint (coming from the north) just to do that.
Hi kristinn: how far is the Washington Plaza hotel to the convention center? Thanks.
About seven blocks.
The man at the hotel says its 3 and a half blocks...going to be a cold night, see you tomorrow night, thanks.
