No, Cyndy is DeKalb County. Clayton County is to the SW of DeKalb.

Ping me if you hear anything new on this, and I'll do the same.

Do we need to organize a civil rights march? ;-)

The old Sheriff looks like Trent Lott's younger brother. ;-)

The article is a bit unclear. It seems that the four top deputies fired were white. Couty sheriff's can choose who they want as their top assistants because they are political appointments. Would be interesting to see the racial makeup of the previous management team. If it was all white, and there are more than four 'top deputies', the new guy will have less of a problem. If the past sheriff had a history of cronyism and corruption, the new guy is free and clear. Lower reanking deputies who are not beneficiaries of cronyism or are not corrupt, likely have a good case.

Being escorted out of the building is not a problem and even the snipers are OK. A bit of overkill, but not illegal.

The new "Boss Hog" will, however, be vulnerable to a charge of Civil Rights violation due to his statement that all four replacements would be black.

He is entitled to choose his staff, but the law forbids the use of race as a basis for his choice. And he will have a daunting task if he attempts to plead the racial percentage card.

I'd be surprised if the Sheriff Dept. bank account is not substantially reduced thanks to the local version of Chief Moose lipping off about his racial agenda.

He clearly is proof that the idiotic behavior endemic in the Sheeple's Republic of FloriDUH is catching. Georgia does, after all, share a border with Florida.

Not True. This is a political appointment no different than appointing someone to the Civil Rights Commission because they are black.
