Reading several threads simultaneously, I thought I was on the Freep-a-thon thread. When I saw that Schumacher donated $10M to Free Republic, I nearly fainted. Ok, back to bashing the UN. ;-)
I´m sure that FR as well as charity organisations will suffer from the huge wave of donations for SE Asia, because people can´t give money to all who need it.
I haven't seen that yet -

Do you happen to have a link? I'd love to pass that on.
But the military has no experience!/sarcasm..
In one TV interview I saw..this one US military man had been to the Phillipines to aid in the typhoon relief and in Turkey for an earthquake relief..
What do they think war training entails?..It includes setting up for devastation, getting food to the right place, providing emergency medical aid to all and making things work.
God bless those who save and rescue.
No, but I will not accept criticism against UNICEF. I have never heard of a scandal involving this sub-organisation, and I believe that they´re doing a very good job. It´s for the children, ya know!?
Also, I expected there was no getting around the UN requesting the US to wear the baby blue. I just knew it would happen. But so far, all the US military I've seen have NOT been wearing it. THANK YOU President 'backbone' Bush!! But what I haven't seen is any story about the official US response. I mean, thats at LEAST a sidebar story. Maybe the US doesn't want to completely rub it in the UN's face, but that kind of stuff has to leak out, right?
Sorry, it was announced by Schumachers manager Willi Weber just an hour ago during a nation-wide donations-collecting TV show in Germany (ZDF). I´m sure it can be found on the web in some hours.

*Running for cover*
I hope they don't slap Blue Berets on your medivac group..
Our hospital ship Mercy is leaving San Diego and going over, too.
LOL, no. Our forces are kept under national command. Yeah, we also sent our cargo ship Berlin, which has 2 operation rooms, one intensive care station and the capability to treat 100 patients. Great, that the US has long-range air transport capabilities.
Our troops didn't wear UN blue in Korea, they certainly don't need to wear it now.
The only fault The Diplomad can find with the Dutch report is that it understates the role of the Australians in the relief effort -- they deserve considerably more credit than this report gives them. It's hard to praise the Aussies too much for what they have done in the wake of the tsunami. They are absolutely splendid -- too bad they've got that thing about that weird game, uh, cricket, is it? Diplomad
Once again proving the superiority of Formula 1 over you-know-what.
Make some new fans NASCAR.
Michael, I applaud the German people for their generosity.
I still maintain that the EU and the UN have again shown that they are superior as a debating society. Of course, they will meet on the 7th to determine strategy.
In the meantime, US, Australians and New zealanders are taking action rather than talking.
The Un accused the US of undermining them. If we waited for the UN, those people would starve in the meantime.
Schumacher is not a single-time giver. He annualy gives more than a million to charity organisations. He came from a lower-income family and hasn´t forgotten how it feels like. Michael Schumacher is a good person.
How many troops has the EU, how many planes, how many ships? Zero. Germany and other European states have taken action and are flying/shipping over to SE Asia. This proves that we are still sovereign.
I just shudder to think that if the Rats had cheated with a little more purpose and vigor, then I'm quite sure what Jean 'French' Kerry would have made our troops wear.
Your reply is a nonsequiture. Hey, I had spaghetti three times last month. Did I criticize INICEF? Was it even mentioned?
LOL, I just wanted to make sure. ;-)
