I'm enjoying watching the UN look like a little kid clamoring for attention while the US does the real work.
They're getting shown up and they know it.

I agree, I'm not worried about India or South Korea, but China, Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, and then later Argentina, and Nigeria. Those countries have a tendency to vote against us whenever they can. I'm a little uncomfortable about this situation.

You know, I'm glad that UN buff called the US stingy and and that Claire Short said that military aid would be too expensive! The world now sees that US carrier anchored off Ache, and the 1000 marines in Sri Lanka. It shows the UN and the left up for what they really are. Let them snipe, the bastards.

The UN has been trying to get the US to give them enough money to renovate their building, After this they wont need to ask anymore, they should easily be able to skim enough off.

And if the UN was prepared, how would the above statement change?
The UN has the money, the emergency supplies, the mobility to get it there?
Or would the UN be clamoring for attention while the U.S. did all the work?

And if the UN was prepared, how would the above statement change? I'm not sure that it would. Being prepared is not the same as acting. AFAIK, Kofi Annan is still unpacking from his ski trip.
The UN has the money, the emergency supplies, the mobility to get it there?
Yes, I would guess that they have some resources, assuming the oil-for-food program didn't use up all their funds. In any event, I doubt the UN can match the US, which is already on the ground getting help to people.
Or would the UN be clamoring for attention while the U.S. did all the work?
When the UN quits talking and starts doing, maybe they'll get some attention.
