".....You drop on the top of some mountain somewhere in some tiny little village in the middle of the night, and it's pitch-black all around you," Lara Logan remembers. "When you land, it's like the ground rises up to devour you..." She got that part right, and I must admit, it got my attention....though I haven't watched 2 minutes of 60 Minutes in the last dozen years, I might have to tune in to see if is a merit piece or not, but I promise to shower before returning to the forum.
If it's BS, I think I'll smell it pretty quick and call for an extraction team before I become a statistic.

"wishing that I had a nickel for every MSM story that was supposed to be neutral"
You are right, it is billed as one thing and will in the end be a completely shift to focus in a compeltely different direction.
For instance, I can see them editing so of the SEAL interviews and taking their comments completely out of context.
To make it sound as though they are opposed to US action there and Afghanistan. Or make it sound as though the SEALs face a enormous task that will be completely impossible for them to compete. So they just carry out the orders.
I have learned my lesson from CBS, I am wise to their BS.
I still remember the story they did on the Apache Helicopter before the first Gulf War.
They had all these liberal pin-heads on, saying that the Apaches were going to start dropping from the sky like rain when fighting started.
They predicted that all of the rotor blades would fail and that the Apache was Reagan Admin pet project, that was a complete failure.
The report turned out to be DEAD wrong and the Apaches did marvelous. You would think CBS would have done a follow-up on the original story? FAT CHANCE.
We were supposed to forget about it.

The MSM will capitalize on the hostilities no matter what they have to do or say. Soo... they are opposed to this president, the military and the war...hmmm, how to sell newspapers anyway? BINGO...!!! Hype up a story about America's finest (BTW everybody already knows this story) via a 'look at me' journalist, and there you have it!

Yeah, they should have just shot those lights right out the second they got to the beach. I still remember the look that Sargent gave the guy holding the light pole, if looks could kill that guys head would have exploded.

This is all so difficult to believe. . ."When beautiful war correspondent Lara Logan volunteers to cover the Navy SEALS as they fight for Afghanistan's freedom, she doesn't expect to meet anyone like Nick Colby. The heroic SEAL commander is resolute in his mission but much less resolute when it comes to resisting Lara's full lips. Lara opens his battle-hardened heart, while he teaches her the meaning of courage in the darkest mountain villages as they fight for their lives." Sounds like the back of a romance novel.

Judging by the pic, I bet the SEALs will be inside the MSM before it's over. ;)

""Here's a SEAL blogger's thoughts on this.....scroll down to Dec. 27 post.

He is going to watch it for the same reason I am, to see if CBS news has figured out where they went wrong and is willing to do something about it, and what direction they will take. How they spin this story will be a great way to see which way the inside politics at CBS are leaning, further to the left or perhaps closer to the success of FNC.

Wait, wait, I even have the title!:
The Strongest Heart. And the blurb on the back: "There are different kinds of courage." See, he knows about physical courage but doesn't have the courage to Truly Love. While she, being a whiny-ass liberal, knows nothing about real physical courage, and they teach each other as they get separated from their unit, or something. We could all write this together, like that sex novel a bunch of writers wrote together fifteen years ago. Even her name is perfect for a romance novel--Lara Logan. I thought that name was taken by one of Superman's girlfriends, but maybe I'm wrong.
I notice that AS USUAL I'm doing all the work on this FR novel! Come on! Contribute something or I'm going to take all the royalties!

The thread is a pretty good post on it's own merit, but it got funny in the middle. If you have time, worth a glance.
