I have neither the time nor inclination to find how this guy fellated his numbers

What an elegant metaphor, so meaningfully pregnant and repellent! Well done!

What a boatload of ca-ca. The author quoted the WaPo and CBS polls to support his claim. Neither the WaPo nor CBS are noted icons of objectivity and both are mouthpieces for the Democrat Party.

I don't get these poll numbers. Maybe it's how the question was asked:

"Do you like the current health care system, in which greedy doctors and pharmaceutical company CEOs get rich off your pain, or would you prefer to get health care of the same quality, for free?"

Hell, if the question was asked that way, I might even take column B. Unfortunately, the pollsters probably didn't bring up the problems with "free" health care.

The Washington Post and CBS polls are notorious for carefully wording public opinion polls to get the answer desired by the lunatic left-wing fringe. On a straight up or down, "Bush or Kerry" question, they can't fool around with the way that the question is worded. But as you have demonstrated, issue polling is vulnerable to manipulation. And they're a lot more subtle about it.
