I actually thought what you wrote was from NRO. In other words, it was written on as high a level

Did any of Clintons nominations get filibustered?

I've heard dems claim they did, but I don't know if I should believe it.

If a freeper wants to write a constructive, thoughtful essay dealing with any important issue of the day, he or she can do so and post it right here on Free Republic where it has a chance to be viewed (and instantly critiqued!) by Free Republic's HUGE, astute, in-place audience.

Who on earth needs their own "blog" that nobody ever sees?
Free Republic is my blog, and THANK YOU Jim Robinson.

Regards,
LH

I believe there were a couple of goofballs killed in committee, but I don't know if any were actually filibustered. In any event, certainly not TEN qualified lower court nominees. That is completely unprecedented.... WAY over the top.

Nice job. I'll read it again tomorrow cause I'm about beat for now.

On the nuclear option, well all I can say is that the judicial fillibuster is in a way just a suitcase nuke in the dem arsenal and they have already launched them numberous times. Beyond even that, they have theatened to shut down the senate business nearly altogether.

So press the dang button already if the dems aren't willing to give an up or down vote on the nominees, and call their hand. They're already firing everything they've got, so shoot back. It's not going to hurt the republicans to stand up for the principles of the people who put them there. It is going to hurt them (and us) if they don't.

Personally I think they are bluffing, and when push comes to shove they are going to fold like old accordion.

If the Senators are too old to filibuster the old fashioned way, they need to be replaced, too!

I'm afraid that the vote may go the same way the vote for money for foreign medical aide to organizations that push abortions:

Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maine, Arkansas, and Oregon need to make sure their Senators know that they are Republican, and will only win votes from Republicans.
