We need to promote abstinence for politicians and officials and anyone who would be either oneOr we need to leave their personal lives alone.

You wonder why the vetting was so bad?
Judith was in the publishing business. He was a rags-to-riches case, most attractive to the media.
It suggests that they were "protected."

People assume that adultery is no big deal. I have even heard ministers ague this from the pulpit.
Adultery is not just a sexual act. It is breaking a solemn obligation, and hurting those who are depending on you, and whom you have sworn to love.
If you think that adultery is a small thing, consider that Jesus said that those who cannot be trusted in small matters, cannot be expected to be honest when the temptations are really large.

Because your professional responsibilities seldom make you crazy, and rarely invoke that part of your brain that is involved in having an affair. There is no "affair" part of the brain - junk science doesn't excuse this kind of behavior.
If a man cannot honor his solemn vows, if he can't respect his own family, if he has no moral integrity, then he cannot be counted on.
Period. End of story.

I reckon since they're always telling us how to live our lives, their lives should be open to scrutiny as well.

Amazing that they could take Kerick down sooooo easily-- yet O'Malley still roams unscathed. Should send a note to Kerick, Baltimore is looking for a Police commissioner, it doesnt matter if you cheat on your wife.

Good question. On a side note I know it isnt right but after 9/11 he was always in the background of all pics and news conferences and I thought just by looking at him he was a shady charector.

There's a very old, blues song that was released by one of the ol' time, black, female singers named, "Your Husband's Cheatin' on Us." :-)

Morality aside- if it took a few reporters a weekend to dig up this dirt, how is it possible the president's team was unable to find this in the weeks leading up to Kerik's nomination? I'm serious...what is the deal with the vetting?
Look at the nanny/illegal alien/tax thing - they basically take his word for it and he takes them for a ride. What we may see as being wrong (such as the nanny thing), others like Kerik and those who have been nailed by the nanny thing in the past don't. It very literally could have been: White House Aide: Is there anything we should know about? Kerik: Nope! That might have been it.
I do find it ironic that he had the full support of Hillary and Schumer. That should have tipped off some of us.

Had to go back and read the names again.
For a moment I thought I was reading an article about X42.
All the affairs HE had didn't matter to the media.

Judith Regan...ughh. She has the worse reputation in the publishing industry for being one nasty boss. I heard the turnover for assistants in her office is HUGE.

Judith Regan looks like a knock-out. Is it me or are conservative women all sought after?? ;-) Well, yeah, she looks great; I've always thought she was very attractive. But whew! - read this (very long, but fascinating) article about her and you may come away with a slightly different impression.
Once I started reading it, I had to finish it. Looks like she's a real scary b#%$-buster.

Ping to #79 re: Ms. Regan. Whew.
I think she's a knockout, too (at least as made-up for photos and TV), but . . . . . whew!
And a new personal record for most-pings in a single post is hereby set.
