Attaway Gidget7!

I'd love to see that headline above
the fold of any American newspaper.

Break free of this Mutual Admiration Society and think for yourselves.

Ahh, yes - the old leftist battle cry. We're just a bunch of conformist, mindless, brain dead automatons who don't have an original thought and will do whatever Karl Rove and George Bush command us to do. Our parents are a part of a massive cult, and by birth, we are a product of that cult. We can't think for ourselves, form an independent opinion or take a position that isn't dictated from above.

We are all part of a massive conspiracy that seeks to rid the country of your beloved "democracy". We are plainly stupid and lack the "nuance" to understand that redistributed wealth, government controlled schools, health-care facilities, housing, state abolition of religion and morality, and "hate-speech" law designed to oppress religion and free speech is the way that good, honest and decent people should live.

You see, I can think for myself, and just because there are many who agree with the same principles does not mean we don't think independently of one another. I find it ironic that you and your leftist friends (that's right - you're a leftist troll) want to dictate how we should live and what we should believe while at the same time telling us that we don't think for ourselves.

You must be really miserable in your skin.

I found FR in 1998 and my observation is that FR was MUCH more personally hostile when blubba and his WINO were terrorizing America, and that it is vastly more civil around here since W's first election.

Blog-referencing, well, blogs are a new thing but FReepers have always touted their own web sites outside of FR.

Also, I still see people having to cite their sources or be called on the carpet, with their assertions negated.

The only vile anti-Semitic remarks are the ones bouncing around inside your narrow mind, which is apparently insulated and closed off from the real world. I suggest you get out more, play some golf with real people, stay away from moveon.org meetings, maybe join a church group, and try a few hours of conservative talk radio every day.

I believe in American exceptionalism but I happen to believe it is due to our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Not the genetic superiority of the people.

There's an interesting subquestion to the issue. America was founded, and raised up, in large part by people who fled persecution for their beliefs. Many founders came here with next to nothing, all had to start from the dirt up, and some rose to substantial heights in education and earthly prosperity in a short time. The early arrivals had to rely on their own families, initiative, and wits to learn because there were no institutions in place. Many of our first arrivals and their descendants were achievers, self-motivated, often quite intelligent, and in general, filled with faith in God to help them. They knew the blessing of relying on Him. Their descendants kept pushing forward to build a strong educational system and other societal supports that rewarded diligence. From this crop came exceptional, diligent people and from that brain trust came our founding documents. We still have our fair share of lazies but I believe this nation stands in a place to be envied for the qualities mentioned above, particulary qualities of character and faith in so many of our founders.
