The Discovery Times Channel

This channel is clearly a left wing propaganda arm of the New York Times.

Several of their recent shows about war and intelligence take on highly liberal points of view. For example their show on intelligence failures specifically blames Bush for the WMD intelligence failure despite showing strong facts to the contrary.

Unfortunately for me, I just have plain-ole' basic cable.

Me too. And I refuse to spend more to get more when I already have trouble finding something to watch on the over 60 channels I have. Besides, reading FR is more entertaining and more informative than 99% of what's on the idiot box.

"I remember reading an article several years ago about a "Military Channel" that was supposed to make its debut, appropriately enough, on the 6th of June of that year. This was about 5-7 years ago. For whatever reason, the channel never did materialize."

It was on for quite a while. I used to pick it up with my BUD (big ugly dish) on C-Band. I don't remember which satellite or transponder it was on, but I watched it fairly often, as it was broadcast "in the clear". I no longer have the big C-Band dish, as it has been replace by a pool in my back yard.

Right you are. It's absolutely unwatchable.

I like those shows, and especially the oneS about different equipment, earth movers etc.

However, those shows usually hire DRUNKEN cameramen, producers high on drugs and affected with ADD. As a result, nothing more than a kalidescope of colors is shown. Frustrated, I seldom tune to what would otherwise be a most favorite show.

You'll notice no network coming out with the "Granola Channel" or "Kumba ya Channel" or the "Let's get baked and protest against the 'man'" Channel.

The US Military does a hard job and does it well.

I like the Discovery Wings channel. I hope some other channel will show the programs about civilian airplanes and spaceflight now, since Wings will just be the Military channel. A lot of the shows were older and out of date though so maybe this isn't that big of a loss to those of us interested in shows about space, civilian/commercial airliners, etc.
