Point two the History Channel isn't.
I thought the History Channel was coming out with it's own Military Channel?
That being said, I really enjoy "Mythbusters."
Not that I am aware of. The NYT does have a joint venture with Discovery Networks with The Discovery Times Channel though. The History Channel and History Channel International are owned by A&E Networks.
I think this will replace the "Wings" Channel
History International shows to many re-runs. Though I do love that British documentary "Russia's War: Blood Upon the Snow."
I can remember when one actually learned something on The Discovery Channel and TLC. Now, Discovery is the "Custom-built crotch car channel" and TLC is "The Trading Spaces channel".
I've never watched History International. They're redundant, especially in this country. Outside of the US, I can see the need for the channel.
And A&E is now the "Acquaintance-Murderer Channel." I guess the cable companies figure that by now everyone has digital or satellite with hundreds of channels and all of the "specialized" spin-off channels like Discovery Wings and whatnot. Unfortunately for me, I just have plain-ole' basic cable.
I like the mechanics shows that actually show how something is done instead of just a bunch of pinheads yelling at each other. There was a show on Discovery once about how things are manufactured that was fascinating but you don't get much of that.
I remember reading an article several years ago about a "Military Channel" that was supposed to make its debut, appropriately enough, on the 6th of June of that year. This was about 5-7 years ago. For whatever reason, the channel never did materialize.
It did materialize, no cable or satellite provider put it on their systems, thus it went off the air.
So where will they cover civilian aviation and space?
So where will they cover civilian aviation and space?
Thats a good question, I watch the Civilian stuff way more than the Military stuff.
The Speed Channel used to cover civilian aviation quite extensively until FOX Sports stepped in and literally trashed that channel and turned it into NASCAR TV.
I can remember when one actually learned something on The Discovery Channel and TLC. Now, Discovery is the "Custom-built crotch car channel" and TLC is "The Trading Spaces channel".
And the History Channel is turning into The Liberal History Channel. That is, when it actually has shows on history instead of UFOs, Kennedy assassination conspiracies, and other such stuff.
