I am still waiting for the final segment of Ridley's "Swing Voter" series ...

Tavis Smiley: "I wouldn't be caught dead with a white woman."

O. J. Simpson: "I wouldn't be caught with a dead white woman."

I wonder if he's hitting the sauce again?

Bill Moyers: the very definition of bitter, old liberal drunk.

". . .If you are an intellectual, and want to hear a person like Dianne Ream . . ."

More accurate to say, "If you are an intellectual you would not listen to NPR. Period."

The only thing I can stomach on NPR is All Things Considered. Other than that, it's a waste of time, and not worth a plugged nickel.

I love this show's "Political Roundtable." One Wa Post wanker and one NYT tosser. I rejoice in their daily snivelling.

If you are an intellectual, and want to hear a person like Dianne Ream stuttering trying to say a word,

Apparently Diana Rehm had a normal voice for most of her life and had already been on the radio for many years when she was affected by "spasmodic dysphonia", which is a neurological voice disorder. Before I read this I always figured she had had a stroke. I have gotten used to the way her voice sounds. It's very distinctive.

I had not noticed any problem with Tavis Smiley's articulation and during the various times I have heard his show I did not feel that he had a lack of intellect although he is not a great genius either.

When we talk about the NPR, we all know that 99% of their programming are tilted to the left. Giving that we all know that, and that their quality of in-depth reporting is superior to all for profit reporting, then it is easy to see how right wingers with high intellect cannot find a similar news and information venue. The quality of reporting on C-Span is very high also, but that is not because of the C-Span journalistic reporting, rather C-Span journalistic integrity of selecting topics of conversations that interest the thinking American public.

I will disregard your old enough to shave remark, and assume that your intellect is similar to Hannity.

I agree, in the old days during the Reagan administration, I used to call NPR the SANDINISTA radio. They used to cover the Sandinista opposition to the US with such obvious passion. However, good intellectuals should be able to read between the lines, and disregard the agenda driven information, and keep the real stuff that the regular media does not bother to report.

Isn't Tavis Smiley the first cousin of another puppet on Sesame Street... or just your average every day run of the mill, puppet.. or is he a marionette or some other kind of dummy.. hard to keep up with dumbocrats these days..

That is correct, real intellectuals listen to NPR knowing that it is a leftist reporting, and to Fox news knowing that it is a right wing reporting.

If you listen to Hannity, you will have depth of about 1/8 of an inch.

Tavis holds a definite grudge against The Man, and does little to try and hide it. I'm sure he plays well to those who wave the black power flag.

If you care, listen to Mr. Smiley on C-Span as he spins his departure from NPR:

Tavis Smiley says, "Buh-bye".
