They work on the theory that for most people the human spirit always believes in the hope of redemption.
For example, maybe they won't kill me if I give them what they want or maybe the good guys will arrive and rescue me.
Besides, it's very difficult to think without oxygen. :-0
I guess the Mexican people were not so impressed with Fox's "democracy" because all he's really tried to do is get rid of them. It must feel quite strange that every time your president visits a foreign country, he's whealing and dealing to get that country to take you and your paisanos.
Fox had one big chance to do something and that was right after he took office. He decided instead to try to prove his machismo by ordering the USA around --- forgot the big problems. He should have immediately done something about the situation in Ciudad Juarez --- but he let that big mess just slide. He should have immediately addressed the kidnapping for ransom issue in Mexico City and elsewhere -- but he let that one slide. Drug shipments to the USA are every bit as high as they were under PRI --- that's another issue he chose not to address. He wasted his term with matricula cards and whole enchiladas --- and Mexico is sliding down fast.
Plus they always leave the corpses right out in a visible place --- they make no attempt to hide them ---- it's to send a message to the next guy in line --- don't screw up because this is your fate.
yep.
quite frankly it scares me. there is nothing positive that i'm aware of going on in mexico.
probably the only thing that holds mexico together is that so many of their people leave and come to the united states. it's a safety valve.
from what i understand, the pri is taking back the governorships, and is expected to win the presidency back in 2006.
Wonder if he knew Fusion GPS' former WSJ guy Glen Simpson?
Just might be!
Last I heard he was in Dublin.
