Immigrants have no rights. Unless they got in illegally, of course. But seriously folks, none of these new powers are ever going to go away.

As for spying on mosques or commies, quite frankly, that's the two spots I'd want them to stick their noses in. I've been wanting that too. In fact, I thought the first thing that would happen after 9/11 was an end to transient immigration from suspect countries. Student visas, that sort of thing. No kidding, I really thought Uncle Sam would start bootin' people out of the country left and right. No such luck. Instead, the new powers granted in the first Patriot Act have already been used outside the scope of terrorism.

The problem I have with the Patriot Act II is that it makes permanent what PA1 required at a time of war. What's there motivation?
Compounded with the fact that our leaders are unwilling to conduct the war at a pace anything like WWII, it could indeed last for generations.
I don't think they have a choice.

It's been around a long time waiting for the right moment. Old FEMA facist doctrine. They didn't just pull it out of their hat the day after 9/11.

But who named it the "Patriot Act"? Is it written to bolster patriotism by giving out free flags? Or was it named "Patriot" in an Orwellian way to cut dissension out before it begins (you are against the "patriot Act"? You must be unpatriotic then!)? Who wrote it? Introduced it for a vote? The name alone is sinister to me as is the name for "Homeland Security". Whose homeland? When did America become a "homeland/fatherland"?

Destro:I don't trust any security law named the "Patriot Act". WND:Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, along with Paul and others, has introduced H.R. 3171, the Benjamin Franklin True Patriot Act.
LOL!

The American Civil Liberties Union has analyzed the draft of the bill and lists several new government powers it would establish.Oh, the ACLU knows best. Nice of them to analyze the "draft of the bill" and offer their opinion -- with out one quoted reference.
We don't need to think for ourselves. Not when have the ACLU looking out for our freedoms.

...one of thie first business to feel the wrath of the patriot act was paypal.com becasue they let people depostit money into online casinos do you feel safer ? You describe paypal.com as feeling the "wrath" of the Patriot Act, but you don't describe what the problem is.
Why not actually describe what you perceive the problem is instead of using such a corny word such as "wrath" to say nothing specific?
