"A Rep demanding that we actually take effective action to prevent terrorists and other law-breakers from entering the country is evidently unacceptable to this White House."

Amen, Moj...

And here's Tancredo's taken to task for reprimanding the WH for its own incompetence and BS-policies??

The arrogance of the Bush Administration is breathtakingly Clintonesque.

FACT: This White House supports a subversive modus operandi on the subjects of border "enforcement" and illegal immigration -- but why ONLY on the West coast, and with primarily Mexicans exempt from ANY U.S. immigration law?

The real threat to Social Security doesn't come from giving young people this opportunity. The threat comes from the Bush Administration's plan to load illegal aliens into the Social Security system, an idea that would skyrocket costs and bankrupt the system at the same time that baby boomers flood into their benefit years.

The code word for this racket is "totalization." The United States has totalization agreements with 20 other countries, which have been reasonable and non-controversial, but totalization with Mexico is TOTALLY different.

The idea behind totalization with other countries is to assure a pension to those few individuals who work legally in two countries by "totalizing" their payments into the pension systems of both countries. All existing totalization agreements are with developed nations whose retirement benefits are on a parity with U.S. benefits, and the affected employees work for companies that have been paying taxes into the other countries' retirement systems.

Workers from the other 20 countries come with documents from their employer verifying that they are authorized to work in the United States. Only a minuscule fraction of Mexicans enter with such documents.

*GOOD LORD*

"Is there a law against being Mexican?"

(Lord,) you're unbelievable...one of the single most intellectually dishonest and compulsive repugnants to Americans' security I've seen in a long, long time...(if I'm wrong, then you're ignorant or devious, but I'll keep it simple)

I predict that this thread will be excoriating President Bush for having hispanic family members before the thread is over.

People still risk their lives to come here.

I watched a soccer game in '97 (or '98) at the L.A. Colesium between the U.S. and Mexican national teams. The stadium holds around 100,000 people, and conservative estimates placed the the number of people actively rooting for the Mexican team at around 90,000.

The American national anthem was booed mercilessly and "urine bombs" were tossed at both the American players (as they made their way off the field) AND at many of the people in attendance who actually had the nerve to actively root for the home (American) team.

It was one of the most despicable things I've ever seen. Actions of people who are happy to be in the "land of the free?" Actions of people who love America and everything it stands for?

Hardly.

I predict that this thread will be excoriating the fact that President Bush is in fact a Mexican National, related to Vicente Fox and bent on merging our two nations, if not disbanding America as we know it for having hispanic family members before the thread is over.

...our friends south of the border...

More than willing to allow the destruction of America from *THEIR* responsibility of the border.

It's sickening, disheartening - we've been HOSED.

But maybe not...there still are some Americans in Congress.

So you're implying that we might as well have Clinton as prez and Osama alive? I must admit the government certainly hasn't gotten any smaller.

By the way, your Mexican comment was non sequitur and you know it.

I was never a Buchananite. Voted for Bush this time too. But this immigration issue will send me away from Republicans on the wrong side of the issue.

That's an outright lie. I just read your other comments in this thread, and you need help. Me talking sense to you isn't apt to do any good.

I recall the game and incidents -- of which was TOTALLY downplayed by nearly everyone in the MSM. It was beyond pathetic.

Btw, do you happen remember the "urine bombs" as reported on the MSM, or the play by play announcers at the time? Which reminds me...

...(In the voice of Howard Cosell) "And there goes an-oth-er urine bomb by one more rabid partisan in Section 'D'....He's got the arm of a Mexican Johnny Unitas!"

Sorry, I couldn't help myself :-p
