Did we re-elect President Bush because we believe he was right in starting the Iraq war? Maybe we re-elected him because the person who got our nation into such a mess owes it to us to get us out and to restore the nation’s honor and reputation.

This is pathetic.
The left is getting more and more convoluted in their logic.
They'll say anything to deny of the fact that Bush was re-elected because more people SUPPORT him.

As far as I remember, NO German attacked Pearl Harbor. Why did Americans go to war against Hitler, then?

Oh, please. We had already been in theater for 10 years as a result of the unprovoked invasion of Kuwait by Iraq. That's one of the things Osama bin Laden was upset about, and he said so in his 1998 fatwa. In that sense there was a direct link between 9/11 and Iraq.

This war proceeded from that one as a result of systematic violations of the terms of settlement on the part of Saddam Hussein. Bush didn't just wake up one morning and say "hey, let's invade Iraq."

I suspect the good Professor's field isn't history.

Not to mention they were constanty firing on British and American aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone, and some were even shot down. Besides, Saddam attacked Kuwait, and the war was only stopped by A CEASE FIRE which Saddam did not honour. Failing to honour a cease-fire agreement is valid justification for continuing the confilict. WHY DON'T ANY OF THESE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS ABOUT IRAQ???

Because Germany declared war on the United States of America. It was Hitler joining Japan, but he also just sent the first letter, since it was clear that the US would not stay neutral in the European war (supply for the Brits).

Dr. Lui,

Iraq instigated war in 1991 by invading Kuwait. The U. S. came to the defense of Kuwait, and the result was that Iraq agreed to ceasefire conditions. Iraq was in violation of the ceasefire terms from 1991 to 2004, when after 17 U. N. Resolutions attempting to remind Iraq of the ceasefire agreements failed, the U.S. in coalition with many other nations, attacked Iraq and won the war, liberating the people of Iraq from a manaical dictactor.

You seem to have overlooked al of these easily discovered facts, sir.

Yes. If Taiwan fails to cooperate with UN-sanctioned inspections, has a history of agression against its neighbours AND a history of using WMDs -- even on their own people. Sure, then they could...

I guess in this guy's brain the WWII Pacific war is America's fault. Pearl Harbour wouldn't have happend if the US hadn't placed a Steel blockade on Japan. Sheesh.

Come on. You can't give us a straight line like that and then tell us we can't use it!

That's right! sarc :-) That's another thing these lefties always forget: there's a BIG difference between agression and pre-emptive self-defence.

Because Taiwan has an elected government and the PRC does not.
