This war proceeded from that one as a result of systematic violations of the terms of settlement on the part of Saddam Hussein. Bush didn't just wake up one morning and say "hey, let's invade Iraq."

Not to mention they were constanty firing on British and American aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone, and some were even shot down. Besides, Saddam attacked Kuwait, and the war was only stopped by A CEASE FIRE which Saddam did not honour. Failing to honour a cease-fire agreement is valid justification for continuing the confilict. WHY DON'T ANY OF THESE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THIS ABOUT IRAQ???

Iraq was in violation of the ceasefire terms from 1991 to 2004, when after 17 U. N. Resolutions attempting to remind Iraq of the ceasefire agreements failed, the U.S. in coalition with many other nations, attacked Iraq and won the war, liberating the people of Iraq from a manaical dictactor.
