Deer will everything that I Plant outside my veggie garden with the 8 ft fence, which my husband says they could get over if they really wanted to....
rhoddies,petunias, roses, Celosia, holly bushes, birch tree leaves....you name it...they will eat it....
my husband hunts, but not in this area....too many restrictions .....and houses on 5 acres....
we love watching the deer, love to see them laying down under the trees, summer or winter....peaceable kingdom and all that....
but they do destroy everything...even small trees that husband plants.....

you know, in the Columbia river down along Oregon and Washington, they actually offer a bounty on squaw fish ( politically incorrect) to help rid the river of them....
some people can make several thousands of dollars doing what gives them pleasure...
maybe the states should start this.....pay people to kill cleanly excess deer...maybe just does for now...
