Yes, weather was mostly ideal...except for one morning of heavy fog. For anyone who thinks fog/smoke will cover them: we were hitting 4-600m targets we could hardly see.

Zaitsev was Russia's most decorated sniper. There were some celebrated women snipers as well but the story line suggested leads me to believe you are referring to the Zaitsev-Koning showdown.

Yeah, I've seen something on this as well, but the History Channel piece was specifically about Russian women who were snipers during WWII.

Amazing. I thought the 7.62 x 51 round was only accurate out to 700 meters. With specialized ammunition I now know that the M-40 is deadly out to 1000 meters.
