No. If it would have been good for Bush then he would have already had his GWP up and rolling by now. He knows the majority is against it.
Unfortunately, the other side was just as guilty as Bush as far as illegal aliens are concerned so there was no debate on the issue.

The issues as voiced by the people in ths country on every single poll I read during the election were moral values, the war in Iraq, the war on terror, and the economy.
Not once did I ever see immigration mentioned.
