Reknowned fiction writer Sidney "Grassy Knoll" Blumenthal weighs in with some post-election slop:

"...Or was this a wishful paranoid fantasy of ubiquitous terrorism destroying Clinton's legacy with one blow? Or a projection of menace and messianism, with only Bush grasping the true danger, standing between submerged threat and civilisation? Perhaps it was simply his way of saying he wouldn't build his library near water..."

Sidney Blumenthal doesn't like George W. Bush very much, does he?

Blumenthal has written yet another work of fiction. Maybe he needs to apply for Dan Rather's job.

Tsk-tsk...I guess Blumenthal truly has no appreciation for satire/irony etc. "You're not such a scary guy," joked his guide. "Yes, I am," Rove replied. Walking away, he muttered deliberately and loudly: "I change constitutions, I put churches in schools ..."

HAaaaaaaaaaaaaa..and naturally...this goes RIGHT over Blumenthal's head...duhhh.

I read that it was Carter who pushed ahead.

If not made up most certainly sarcasm, given the "you're not so bad" comment.

Sheesh. . .

"You're not such a scary guy," joked his guide. "Yes, I am," Rove replied. Walking away, he muttered deliberately and loudly: "I change constitutions, I put churches in schools ..." Thus he identified himself as more than the ruthless campaign tactician; he was also the invisible hand of power, pervasive and expansive, designing to alter the fundamental American compact.

I'd bet my house that's a lie.

Exactly. And that one paragraph goes to show one thing: just how really, really scared they are of him.

I forgot to add this bit of information. It was Bob Dole who first phrased the term Bridge to the 21th century. I remember Dole saying this in one of his speeches. Shortly after, clinton, being the theif that he is, took the phrase for himself. I often wondered why Dole didn't make an issue of clinton stealing the phrase.

I miss old Sid. You could always count on him for a knee jerk response. He and Hillary were perfect together. He's been writing for the Guardian for a while. Perfect match. Kinda like hemorrhoids and hemorrhoid cream.

the dramatic building, a glistening silver, suspended boxcar filled with light and with a panoramic view of the Arkansas river. Flung across the river stands an old railroad bridge - and to Clinton watchers, bridges represent "the bridge to the 21st century",

"A shining trailor on a hill."

"A bridge to the 20th century",
Warning! Span ends 100 ft.!

That Museum/Library is Clinton's Legacy? As Rush Limbaugh says, "It looks like a mobile home on stilts!" And it does!
But I think Clinton will try to do something
international to bolster up his tarnished image.

Don't. Rove is known for his sarcasm and sense of humor.

Anyway, there isn't anything *they* can do about it, HA HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, that's an easy one. Dole = classy guy.

Actually Dole said he wanted to be a bridge to the past in his acceptance speech and Clinton turned it around to use it against him. Even Clinton's signature manifesto was only a reaction to Republicans.

Yes, I always believe everything I read in the Guardian. It's so fair and balanced.

I caught part of the opening of the Liebrary while waiting to board a flight. This part send warning shivers down my spine (paraphrased):

'Am I the only one in America who likes both John Kerry and George Bush? Am I the only one who believes that both are great men, with different ideas...'

What frightened me was that what I was hearing would become the theme of Hillary's campaign stump speech for the Presidency in '08. She will campaign on being a healer, not a divider.

And she has a damned good chance of winning.
