And yet your tax dollars at hard at work in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, which as part of its exhibit of prehistoric life, plays a movie over and over and over again every day, about how we (mankind) evolved from a furry little rodent.

There is more than enough solid science behind evolution to prove it's true. It is as proven as gravity.

Evolution Ping! This list is for the evolution side of evolution threads, and maybe other science topics like cosmology.
See the list's description in my freeper homepage. Then FReepmail me to be added or dropped.

And with Evolution...Jesus is nothing more than a made-over Ape.

Thanks. Conservatives are generally very practical people. On this particular subject there are many that are just looney. Ken Ham and the creationut scam artists have done a marvelous job of promoting their lies.

Correct.
One thing we know, indisputably, is that galaxies did not all form at the same time. Younger galaxies contain lighter, more simplistic elements. Older galaxies have heavier, more complex elements. As galaxies age, their makeup becomes more and more complex, as more particles combine to create larger and more complex materials. This is evolution. It's part of the same long, orderly process that collects dust particles and forms galaxies, then stars and planets, then atmospheres and environments, then finally, under just the right conditions, basic lifeforms which over time evolve into more complex lifeforms.

It is process that brings order from chaos, and makes a strong case for "intelligent design."

Fear not, the FRevolution Brigade will be along shortly to tear down the poll and to explain that no one other than barefoot snake-handlers could possibly doubt evolution. One of them will probably cut-and-paste/regurgitate his list of mighty links that show us a bunch of ape skulls labeled as transitional fossils, and make it seem that every scientist on the planet believes in evolution. How many posts will it take?

I knew a majority of Americans believed in creation, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the size of the majority. Praise God.

I think it is fair to teach evolution as a theory that is most likely given the evidence, but I do think that it should not be taught as fact and that it should be taught in a way that is respectful of the beliefs of Christians who believe in a literal Biblical account of creation.

"DO ANY OF YOU EVER THINK ABOUT EVOLUTION VS CREATIONISM?"

I did once. I reached my conclusions for myself. I cannot push or convince anyone to the contrary if they harbor beliefs other then my own. I do not think less or more of someone for believing one way or the other. If someone wants to push their conclusions on me, if they are civil, I will discuss my conclusion and explain why. But this rarely comes up as it makes for endless circles and boring conversation once you have been through it a few times. Most adults are decided and arent really interested in challenging themselves but rather bolstering their own view.

If you do not understand the theory of evolution, you miss the beauty of God's Creation.

Why limit God to continuous intervention, when he can do it all from one Big Bang?

Right. Through the process of cause and effect and the immutable laws of physics which governs it, the entire course of the universe was determined from its offset. All that is left is to watch it continue to unfold.

Don't mistake loud authoritative voices for proof.

Sorry, the theory of evolution does not include primordial ooze, creation or any other event. It merely describes in exquisite detail how life adapts to changing environments here on Earth.

So is that really Evolution? If God created creatures with the ability to adapt given certain prevailing circumstances is that the same as an ape becoming a human?

God Bless
