Good. We're in a war, not a popularity contest.

If another platoon came across a similar situation, or even if they made up or enhanced a situation to make it obvious to folks that their brother had done the right thing, THEN GOOD FOR THEM. Whether it really happened this way, I don't care. I'm proud of them. If you don't like it, take a leap.

My, my what a sweetheart you are! My question was meant to be a serious one: are you in a position to know that the military routinely makes things up. There was no intent to plant the word "routinely" into your statement. My point stands. Unless you can substantiate that the military makes things up to help public opinion along, you should not imply that this story may have been "enhanced."

First of all, psyops is and should be an integral part of any operation. In those operations, any and all communications are tailored to the benefit of our side. So yes, the military can and does make things up. Did they make this up? I don't know. I don't care. It's fortuitous, helps the Marine's position, and I hope for a quick trial and acquittial with or without this info.

My, my what a sweetheart you are!

Thanks! I really am a sweetheart when not under attack. ;-P I am aware of the harsh tone that the internet can add to any posting....are you?
