Even with Russia's ratification, he pointed out, 75 percent of the world's CO2 is emitted by the 89 percent of the world's population living in countries not "handcuffed" by Kyoto's restrictions. ============================================
All, and this does not EVEN mention natural disasters such as volcano eruptions. Peace and love, George.

"Like fascism and communism, Kyotoism is an attack on basic human freedoms behind a smokescreen of propaganda," he said. "Like those ideologies of human hatred, it will be exposed and defeated." ================================================
Guys, Yet another reason to get the hell out of the United Nations. May it be sooner rather than later. Peace and love, George.

Good to hear that Putin is against it, too. Just looking at the climate changes on earth going back thousands of years, the flucuation of temperatures is just climate. That is all it is. It happens. Some times it is a huge change, sometimes subtle. But humans weren't always even here to have caused it. Look at the dust bowl.
And I was checking October temperatures for us here on the Texas Gulf Coast and 1948 and 1949 were especially HOT. It is much cooler here this year.

and this does not EVEN mention natural disasters such as volcano eruptions or hot air (mostly CO2) from Democrat politicians.

Who is going to enforce this, I think it will fall unto the United Nations which will push for the creation of huge supra national bureaucracy.

Illarionov -- whose views, the British paper noted, did not necessarily reflect those of the Russian authorities -- asserted the Kyoto protocol is destructive for science and the environment, public health and safety, economic growth and the international fight against hunger and poverty. I could be wrong, but I think Putin signed it.

Kyoto is not an environmental treaty, it is economic affirmative action allowing the fastest growing (and developing) economies to pollute more, while penalizing countries like the US, that have the cleanest power plants and gasoline standards. I hope there are more advisors like Illarianov who are close to other world leaders.

Yet another reason to get the hell out of the United Nations. That would be a cause for a national holiday. I hope that we'll leave the UN, if not leave, at least boot them out of New York . Heck, the French could host the UN HQ, let them move to Paris.

You are correct. Putin did sign it. I like this Illarionov, but his warning came a little too late, I think. Those are the reasons the US didn't sign the silly thing.

You can bet this will be one of the things the UN will use its troops for. Anything that will hurt the industrailized nations.

Well, if a Democrat is EVER elected he or she will sign it. If McCain is elected he will sign it. Fortunately, the Senate must still ratify it.
By not belonging we are excluded from certain economic activities among the signees. Those restrictions are insignificant for now.

I believe Clinton already signed it but the Senate refused to ratify.
