"Take all our manufacturing plants out of China and rebuild them in Mexico. Then watch the illegal aliens south bound over the Rio Grande."

Excellent suggestion, Luis G.

Besides, it's only a matter of time until the Communist Chinese seize and nationalize all Western investment over their anyway. We might as well beat them to the punch.

"Tank you president NIXON."

There were sound strategic reasons for playing the China Card. Trouble with a little outfit called the USSR and a dust-up called the Cold War. I'm sure you remember it.

In any case it interrupted Sino-Soviet cooperation which has only been to the good. So what's the beef with Nixon?

I don't think the date on my articles is what bothers you, Grzegorz.

BTW...most of my recent postings contain articles published between 2002 and 2004.

See post #5 (whether you agree or disagree, it's definately food for thought).

Well, China has $515 Billion USD that she needs to dump someplace. Maybe Putin's willing to take them for a nice little arsenal.

But hey--China is our FRIEND. China makes cheap stuff JUST for OUR benefit.

That way we can spend more on Viagra...

"Their biggest threat is not the US but North Korea, should that fruitcake go even further south mentally. Economically, we can defeat both Russia and China combined."

I think their is plenty of evidence that Russia, Red China and N. Korea are in league together. They are pulling another "Cuban Missile Crisis" on the US and the West, in which the extraction of Nuclear missiles will be exchanged for a much bigger foreign policy concession and/or extort the West (especially the US) for more foreign aid.

Can you imagine the damage Russia and Red China could do if they decided to dump their USD holdings. In addition, Red China and Japan own about 40% of all US debt. Just think what would happen if Red China dumped both their US debt holdings and the US dollar simultaneously. It would most likely force Japan to do the same (as they watched their bonds and treasuries sink into oblivioun).

Just look at what has happened over the past few weeks between China and North KoreaI would almost bet that those things going on between them is not joint military exercizes. Also, since that time pictures of the royal emporer of North Korea have started to come down and they are not addressing him as such anymore.

I noticed that too. Judging by the context of the article, I'm guessing it was probably written after 2002.

Well, that sounds like a good start - even the threat of doing that could bring the Chinese around. I wish our congress and executive branch would stop dealing with insignificant issues and face realities.

Waldron believes, as do some analysts within the Bush administration, that it is in the interests of the United States to split Russia and China apart. "We should do this not by making concessions," Waldron says, "but by showing them we will penalize them for this sort of cooperation."

So Mr. Walton wants to split Russia and China by using stick but no carrot policy. And how this split is to look like? That Russians and Chines after being hit with the stick hard enough will attack one another?

Very interesting strategy.

Two hypothesis could readily be made. One, the Sino-Soviet split was genuine and irreversible, or two, the Sino-Soviet split was either a hoax or was reversible.

There is a THIRD and the most likely possibility - that the split was genuine and reversible (the fourth does not make much sense). The author is not able to use logic.
