You should be proud. It really takes guts! I'm astounded to hear that this is going on in religious schools. I guess they're starting to become more like the sell out "religious" colleges.

Good for her for pointing out the hypocrisy, although technically one should note that it's the activity that's sinful, while the orientation is a disorder and those with it should be treated with respect, compassion and sensitivity. The following is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

Not only does the school allow it, they promote it everday in the morning announcements. It goes something like this: "if you call yourself gay, lesbian, queer, homosexual, transexual, or transgendered, come join our club that accepts you as you are. We meet every Tues after school."

I am sure some lawyer will figure out that the legal age of consent for sexual acts exceeds the age of the students being classified by the state as having a sexual preference. Oh, btw, if it is sexual 'preference' then how could it possibly be innate?

GLSEN officials said there are at least 40 gay-straight clubs at schools in Virginia, 54 in Maryland and two in the District....

GLSEN has 2,500 gay-straight clubs registered with its organization, and Miss Byard estimates there are probably many more...

Check out www.abidingtruth.com (sorry this isn't a link, you'll have to copy'n'paste) for materials. They have great books, one in particular called something like "Seven Steps to Recruit Proof Your Child" by Scott Lively. I've lent it to parents, who were very happy to read it.
