I find myself ascribing to granny's view about Russia more and more. I think that the dismantling of the Russian state after the Cold War made them appear to be weaker than they really are. Was it all a ruse to lull us into a false sense of security while they play out their long term goals?

But then again, when you look at the breakaway republics (Georgia, Chechnya, etc.) -- who knows? And when you factor in the reports of all the missing weapons (including the notorious suitcase nukes) it sounds like they have become a shadow of their former self. Maybe that's what Putin wants the rest of the world to think while they develop their new "super weapon."

It is far fetched ( and not my first guess) but step into India's shoes and look around you. If I had Pakistan (with wild card nukes) on my border right now I'd be looking real hard for a bigger power to pluck them.

Yes, I saw the links and explored them briefly. It's a virtual dossier of indictments against Mossad. I admit to knowing very little about many of the reports, although I vaguely remember the one about the Mossad in NZ and the fake passports. I think it was linked here.

Is Mossad the equivalentt of our CIA? Heaven knows, THEY are viewed simultaneously as a lynchpin of our government's inner workings and the spawn of Satan at the same time - whichever view you prefer. I consider the CIA to be a necessary evil. A "desperate times call for desperate measures" sorta thing.
