I'd say this is the least of the things Barney Frank knows better than to embrace.

NEVER make a law for one specific case. That's an excellent rule. I don't want to see a Muslim born in Morroco as a president of the USA some day.

It isn't Schwarzenegger's birth right that bothers me. It's that he fought so hard to successfully retain his Austrian citizenship after emigrating to the US that makes me wish we would return the terminator to his native land.

I'm not a huge Arnie fan, but the man came from nothing arriving in America with $20 and ambition. He won Mr. Universe, then rallied his winnings into a fortune by INVESTING then graduating from college with a degree in business. THEN he became a real estate tycoon speculating on property in Santa Monica (worth MILLIONS now). All before he considered going into the movie business.

"intellectual depth of a mud puddle"

Not.

Let's not confuse shrewdness and ambition with intelligence.

Arnie came to America with $20.00 alright, in addition to the tuteledge and backing of Joe Weider, who is to the "sport" of bodyduilding what Vince McMahon is to Professional Wrestling (and the parallel does not stop there). While I greatly admire the guts, determination and discipline required to become Mr Universe (Arnie also was Mr Olympia SIX times!) sculpting glutes, delts and lats can hardly be called an intellectual endeavor.

The success he realized in the field of real estate was necessitated by the fact that his first venture into film (produced by Weider, aided by Hefner and featuring Arnie as a gun-slinging cowboy from Bavaria) was a complete disaster.

Don't get me wrong - I admire the man. I simly don't think he belongs in the same class as Condi Rice, Dick Cheney or GWB.

Think for a minute about how he would handle the upcoming nominations to SCOTUS, or dealing with Alan Greenspan's successor at the Fed.

No argument with his qualifications as our President, but my argument was with the line "intellectual depth of a mud puddle". He's doin' a heck of a lot better than most the people on this here board I would imagine. Certainly better than me. So .... "intellectual depth of a mud puddle" ? No. Presidential material? Probably not. I sure love listening to him, though. He has the dems in Kalliefornia birthing kittens.

OK, I'll rephrase....."A walk across the lake of his innermost thoughts would scarcely get your feet wet."

Ok, I'll rephrase: 96.4% chance He has more money, a more important/powerful position, better abs, better tan, more property, a prettier, richer wife than say..... YOU.

Evidently those innermost thoughts have brought him much glory! I sense some jealousy......

WRONG! 6'0", 22in arms, 56in chest, 42in waist, 28in thighs, 310lbs, 12% body fat, on my way to the tanning parlor as we speak, and my wife sure as hell doesn't look like a stick with a jaw. (I'd tell you about the $ but you'd never believe me.)
