Everyone Celebrate! I once used the internet as a text format (1987) never dreaming of the potential uses of today.
This is the equivalent.

This reminds me a bit of the Canadian Arrow. Anybody see that movie, "The Arrow," on cable?

Yes I did. The Avro Arrow. Good story. I wonder where the last unaccounted jet went to, once Ike pressured them to shut down the program.

But wait, I thought all the smart people were in China and India and that Japan was going to crush us because they make nifty VCR... and that Tonga makes better coconuts.

Yes I did. The Avro Arrow. Good story. I wonder where the last unaccounted jet went to, once Ike pressured them to shut down the program. It was an entertaining movie but it seemed to have a lot of conservative bashing in it. I wonder what the real reason for ditching that program was. However, that Arrow did seem YEARS ahead of its time. Pity that they just tore up those jets. That was painful to watch.

"4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." I don't think the scram could begin to approach the speed or distance indicated by that particular verse.

"I don't think the scram could begin to approach the speed or distance indicated by that particular verse."What speed and distance do you think that means? Or who do you think it applies to?
I don't think it's specific. The "to and fro" part could just as well be fulfilled by the automobile even if jet travel ever took off or not. But I think it applies to people on the earth.
We keep getting faster and faster. Unles we develop teleportation, it's hard to imagine us going to and fro much faster than NY to LA in 20 minutes.

Well, they'll outsource the manufacture to china. They've already got Boeing's machine tools.
