I had no problem understanding your post.

The news media, msm, should be freeped and I am not sure why freepers don't understand the amount of media bias out there.

However, what you should do is contact, firebrand, our tri-state chapter leader of the Free Republic before you start organizing a freep, it should go through her. The tri-state chapter is the activism part of the Free Republic.

Certainly you can tell me. And since you have no power whatsoever, I can point at you and laugh in response.

I was part of the Freep/Protest Warrior protest of the Today Show...I would be into it if the timing is good.

O'Reilly is defending the Marine now. Said if he wanted to open up on the insurgents, he would have done so as soon as he entered. BINGO! Marine protected himself and his squad and should be praised, so says O'Reilly.

Say what you will about Oreilly...He did a fantastic job tonight in supporting the Marine, the troops and a great service in putting the story in the right frame for millions of viewers. Thanks for this one Bill.

TFine80;

We;ve been here for a long time. I knew immediately what you were talking about. I can't imagine how anyone "didn't" know what you were talking about.

I'm with ladiesview in thinking you were just treated extremely rude. No one has a monopoly on starting a protest or rallying support for a cause.

During the first Gulf War I started a HUGE rally in Anchorage Alaska to support the troops. It was a great success. CNN even had us report what cities were having rallies and they put them on their map of cities with rallies and our rally made the map (I know "gag alert", but we didn't have FOX News back then.)

So please don't let a few people playing board cop try to curb your enthusiasm. Activism was always the spirit of this forum. I knew immediately what you were talking about as did others.

Perhaps you could have been more concise, but those complaining could have been more concise in there criticism. And a heck of a lot more polite too.

FRegards

Just to be clear, I'm sure you did not mean to imply that rallies and protests need to be cleared through firebrand, right?

We'd never have any rallies or protests in NY if we start doing that.

I'm sure you meant to say PING her if you like.

Just trying to clear the air on this one :o)

You must be thinking of someone else, since I have run more than 50 demonstrations in New York City since I became chapter executive. And there are good reasons to clear demonstrations through me, not that everyone does. I'm very surprised that you would slander me on this forum the way you have.

You've mistaken my post. Reread it. A poster was told to clear rallies through you. Do you think that rallies and protests in the NY area need to be cleared through you?

That was my intent, to clear up any misconceptions about FR's thoughts on rally's or protests. Be it NY City or anywhere. There are no rally chairpersons for FR in any city.

I'm pretty sure you would agree with that, wouldn't you?

Good grief. I think people need to step away from their keyboards. A person stated he wanted to start a protest, I think thats great. That's pretty much how we got started here at FR. We don't want any "one" person to have a monopoly on starting rallies or protests. We "can" all work together and help each other. We can participate in each others rallies and help each other, can't we?

Perhaps the person who started this thread would have even been happy to turn this event over to you. I can't speak for him.

But having worked for a campaign, having headed an governatorial inaugural breakfast and having done a large successful rally myself, I don't think I would dissuade anyone from starting a rally or thinking I had a monopoly on all rallies in NY City.

I pinged you because someone had suggested he "clear" future events through you for NY City. I thought that was absurd. I "was" correct, wasn't I?
That you felt insulted was "your" perception. I would go further to say it was "your" problem.

FRegards

I'm sure you did not mean to imply that rallies and protests need to be cleared through firebrand, right? We'd never have any rallies or protests in NY if we start doing that.

This is what you said.

I'll restate what I answered: There have been many, many rallies and protests in New York that have been cleared through me (and organized by me and run by me, with the help of the chapter). That makes your statement wrong. We aren't starting to do it now, we've done it many times in the past. And there are good reasons for clearing things through the chapter executive.

I'm not asking for gratitude for what I have done and am doing for FR. I'm just asking for honesty and accuracy.
