I am four-square behind this Marine. Let God judge. Only He knows for sure what happened.

Sorry, but I cannot support what this Marine did.

Unless there is a clear threat from the insurgent, the Marine should not have killed him. Although other insurgents have booby trapped themselves, that does not give this young man the right to assume that every wounded insurgent is a grave threat.

He did not even take the time to asess the situation. The wounded man was breathing, and the Marine shot him. The guy wasn't even moving.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this. But before you do, I want you to know I have 3 loved ones in Iraq and I support the job they are doing. But this Marine acted in a very unprofessional manner. He didn't think, and in my opinion he committed murder by shooting an unarmed man.

Does anyone else think it was con-veeen-ient that the video tape "ran out" just as the marine allegedly pulled the trigger? I wonder what really happened.

Can you tell me a little about this story? I haven't heard about it. Pardon my ignorance on this issue.

Isn't what the Marine did the same thing that the Dem Party Nominee this year for President did?

Oh wait the Marine didn't shoot the guy in the BACK!

This young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy.

War is never going to look politically correct on video.

This reminds me of the Rodney King incident. The good guys have a thousand rules to check off while trying to protect themselves and the public. I imagine the adrenaline rush that this wounded marine was experiencing was 10x that of the black and whites in LA. The terrorists are the ones fighting to the death while faking death and surrender to get one last chance to kill an American. It is these rules of engagement that this incindent needs to be filtered through.

Welcome aboard, I agree wholeheartedly, and will keep you in mind for future local FReep events (I've organized and led two in the area, in the last few years).

If Kerry had ball #1, he'd come out in defense of this Marine.

On the other hand, the story is already out there, and stirring the pot will keep bringing it to the top -- not good for the young marine or for our military. Publicity and pressure destroyed CBS and Dan Rather on the document story because the documents were frauds. This story is true, albeit one-sided (like Abu Graib.)

This Marine has my full support. The wolf pack howling after his should be ashamed. They want America brought to her knees.

I heard that the marine shooting was shot in the face the day before, and their buddy was killed by a terrorist
playing dead as he checked the bodies the day before.

I am going to write to Senator Lindsey Graham that we support this marine and that the MSM are the traitors. Senator Graham is on the Armed Services Committee: http://armed-services.senate.gov/ AND was a former JAG officer. I encourage everyone to email him and committee members.

If he gets into real trouble over this - shooting a fanatical enemy in a war-zone, we should raise money for him!
