Well .. keep in mind that Specter has just met with Frist - and Frist has made it public that Specter is being watched. I'm hoping Frist has told Specter to SHUT THE HELL UP.

With the current extreme polarity between the partys, I know that the fact that Schumer is for him, means he is NOT the right(so to speak) person for the job.

I am in the frame of mind right now, so soon after the election, and all of the antics of the MSM, to be against anything or anyone that the dems and MSM are for.

We think we have seen obstructin and nastiness in the senate. Well, I think when it comes to judicial nominees, even some of the "lesser" ones than Supreme Court, the level of nastiness and obstruction will go up exponentially.

I'm not. Better to see how politicians will vote before electing them. As for Specter - let him dig his own grave.

Contacts on Monday morning, tomorrow, to the GOP Committee members, including the Leader's office, are critical!

King Arlen must BE STOPPED from ascending to the SJC Chair...

Actually Specter is also a troll--trolling for pro-abortion support, non-verbally saying, "see what my showing my true colors has done for us abortionists--help me or else!"

I want all here to remember when AS is given the chairmanship & he goes against the principles of this site, which he will do, are you responsible enough citizens to vote out or recall these members that put him in despite our wishes?

Agreed. He has been treading water in quicksand. Let him keep it up.

While I certainly wish that Specter had not thrown cold water on out great election triumphs, there is a certain reality which we must face.

The Democrats have a litmus test for their candidates. A serious Democrat must be a pro-abort and pro-homosexuality. Those who aren’t need not apply. To some extent, this litmus test has made them the minority party they are today.

I would love to see the GOP be an intellectually pure conservative party, with everyone being along the lines of Alan Keyes and Pat Buchanan, but the fact is that Specter isn’t the only liberal in the GOP.

If we want to push Specter out the door, we need to do the same with Arnold, Rudy, Powell, Ridge, Whitman, Gonzales, Chaffee, Collins, Snowe, Pataki, etc. And if we push these people out of the tent, we will go back to being the minority party. I’d like nothing better than if we had rock-rib conservatives holding 75 Senate seats, 350 House seats, 44 governorships, etc., that just isn’t the case. Part of the price of being the majority party is being big enough to accept those people who don’t fit some of our core beliefs, but who nonetheless would rather be with us than with “them.”

Would we rather be what we are right now, a majority party with the likes of Specter, etc., or an ideologically pure party which is a permanent minority party?

If the GOP betrays America and does not deliver, there will be hell to pay. You can take that to the 'bank'...

Why does the right so often snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Spector is too controversial and might plunge the knife again.
