That was my first thought upon reading the article. The pro-Israel/Jewish supporters in this country would never use such a terroristic threat to state their support, as it's completely self-destructive. Our tact is to support and establish democracies so that the people choose using their own will, not fear of death. This is an Islamofascist tactic pure and simple.

I know that PC USA made some assinine move like that but the article mentions "America's Presbyterian Church" not "Presbyterian Church USA". Are these the same thing? I know that there are different Presbyterian churches in America (and I am looking for one that is NOT PC USA because I do not agree with the national church's agenda for abortion, homosexuality, and Palestine).

Not all congregations in the PCUSA are left-wing radicals, either; it's mostly the leadership that's the problem.
I belong to a PCUSA church in a Northeastern city, and our congregation is predominantly conservative, evangelical and pro-Israel. We even hold monthly prayer meetings specifically for Israel ("pray for the peace of Jerusalem") and are very upset over the proposed divestiture of Israel investment.

Thanks for the amplification.
The coverage via talk radio (e.g., Dennis Prager) and what is talked about in conservative
circles does lead one to paint a bit with the broad brush.
(Just a thought from a non-Presbyterian...time for your congregation to
consider a switch to PCA? I'm not being provacative, just wonder if that's
an option that's likely/considered.)

It's not an option that's been discussed openly, and probably because we're so accustomed to being "out of sync" with the leadership on many other issues, including gay ordination, abortion, etc. that we've come to accept it as a fact of life. But someday perhaps. . .
